PEOPLE LIKE COWS
I live in Los Angeles, but I grew up in a small town in upstate New York, surrounded by farmland. I was always fascinated by the cows. They never seemed to be in a hurry. The title of this series came from director David Lynch, something I heard him say at a screening.

I created this painting to commemorate the demolition of the Sixth Street Bridge, an historic viaduct bridge that connected the Arts District in Downtown Los Angeles with the Boyle Heights neighborhood. Built in 1932, the bridge was closed for demolition and replacement in January 2016 due to concerns over seismic instability.
